The OEF Safety Requirements

1. the facility has liability insurance (show proof of coverage)
2. a release is signed by all participants
3. stable rules are posted prominently
4. fire precautions/emergency evacuation procedures posted and understood by staff
5. hazardous material/equipment is stored safely
6. instructors are adult, with experience and relevant certification, esp. first aid
7. assistant instructors are under supervision
8. accident forms are available and used if accident occurs
9. ride only in safe and suitable environment
10. riders are at least 6 yrs of age (without direct assistance)

More Important Safety Rules
Be especially careful about inexperienced people or even people unfamiliar to your horse. In explaining safety, be polite but firm to ensure everyone’s protection. -- one must provide clear, concise directions with good voice. its a matter of safety!
