Horse Shoe Crafts

You will get a picture taken during camp to work with for this craft.

Get an old horse shoe with nails removed and paint it (i bet spray paint would work the best), and decorate it with craft glue and ribbon, gems, writing in fabric paint, horse stickers or transfers or whatever supplies you can find...

Attach a piece of foam core or cardboard to the back of it. or you can use wrapping paper, stationery paper, whatever you want.

HERE'S WHAT YOU DO:1. Mix in a few squirts of your craft acrylic paint. e" into the shape you want. We just punched in the edges with our fingers and made a casual-looking edge.3. Lay your horseshoe on the pancake and press Hard so the shoe fully imprints on the clay. Make sure you have all the nail holes imprinted too. Gently lift horse shoe off your "pancake."4. Poke two holes in the top of your pancake. This is where you'll thread and knot the twine to hang your sign later. Make sure the holes are big enough for the twine to get through.

decorate Using letter stamps or markers, create your message. Use your imagination: "Ponies Rule, Boys Drool," "Tack Room," "Gone Riding,"

6. Cut out your craft paper as a frame for your personal photo. Cut out your personal photo, making it slightly smaller than your craft paper frame. Glue photo onto craft paper. Take this and glue it into the inside of your horse shoe imprint.
7. Let your craft dry overnight. If it's humid, lay it in front of a fan or a vent.
8. Using the silver acrylic paint, paint your horse shoe, being careful not to paint in your "nail holes."
9. Thread your twine through the back of each hole your sign and make a knot.
