hoofbeats! (radio+) interview with Margaret Godson will air Dec 9 |
She has founded and maintained for over 30 years, a facility in Ontario that can take you further than most riding schools, because of the horses and her skills. She is able to develop and support a high level of horsemanship. She also offers an ability to address limiting problems within individuals themselves, whether personal or equestrian, and mentors others both in and out of the riding ring.

Always teaching in a safe, fun and positive way, and environment, she exemplifies the coaching and teaching practices of the National Coaching Certification Program, and should be recognized for her contribution to the sport. Peter Gray once mentioned that Margie had done a lot for our sport with her programs and sessions, meaning no doubt the Winter Lecture Series, Annual Rider Level Testing, Annual Gymkana and Annual Short Course competition. She is also known to host Pony Club team riding sessions at the facility, Pentathalon mostly of late.
In addition, despite obtaining her pony club A and a scholarship to Potomac Horse Centre in Maryland to obtain her certificate and High Performance coaching credentials many years ago, she is dedicated to continued and stays professionally updated with self study, hosting and attending clinics and taking riding lessons from other high performance coaches in the area, yet another ways she promotes and demonstrates good sportsmanship.
In addition, Margie has created a stable of noble, forgiving and honest creatures, to support us in what we want to do, unconditionally, with so much to offer to us! A herd of sound, safe, well-mannered school horses for rider progression at your own rate and fitness level, that surely join me in nominating this inspirational horsewoman for Coach of the Year.
